From a 9-5 Software Consultant to a 7-figure Property Portfolio
Umesh, founder of Moneyrow Properties, left his 9-5 to build passive income through property. Using his own success story, he set out to empower others to do the same and enjoy freedom without financial constraints.
Growing up in the 80s, Umesh saw firsthand his family’s struggles. With his dad battling illness and his mom juggling work and household chores, financial stability seemed like a distant dream. Grateful for his upbringing, Umesh dedicated his spare time to serving the Bahama Kumari community, where he developed the strong values he holds today.
I was always the ‘go-getter’, and found solutions to problems. I often created problems to solve them; 30 years on and I think I still do that today.
Driven by a desire for something extraordinary, Umesh’s journey changed during his university years when his mother fell ill and couldn’t work. Determined to secure financial stability, he dived into property investment, learning how to leverage credit cards. In 2004, despite the distance, Umesh took a leap of faith and bought his first property—an off-plan condo in Toronto.
Umesh spent the next decade perfecting his skills. Inspired by his father-in-law’s advice on the importance of a property portfolio for financial security, he shifted from flips and refurbishments to Houses in Multiple Occupations (HMOs). Now, his portfolio is worth seven figures and generates a six-figure income, all managed remotely from 110-250 miles away.
Honestly, I don’t need to work thanks to my property portfolio, but I love what I do. It gives me so much joy to share my knowledge and experience to help others create the life they deserve.
For Umesh, success isn’t just about the money. It’s about the joy of sharing knowledge, creating opportunities, and making a difference in people’s lives. Despite the freedom his property portfolio gives him, Umesh remains passionate about helping others achieve their dreams.
